La-Z-Boy Sit Back, Relax and Donate Winners Announced

Congratulations to our three winners: Becky George of Salem, OR; Michael Kraft of Battleground, WA; and John Bilinowich of Gresham, OR.
The American Red Cross is pleased to announce three winners of the "Sit Back, Relax and Donate" blood donor incentive campaign: Becky George of Salem, OR; Michael Kraft of Battleground, WA; and John Bilinowich of Gresham, OR. The three winners were randomly selected on September 4, 2009, and each received their choice of a gift certificate or a La-Z-Boy chair, all of which were donated by La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries.
Between July 1 and August 31, 2009, all presenting blood and platelet donors at Red Cross blood drives in the Pacific Northwest region were invited to enter the "Sit Back, Relax and Donate" promotion. Participants had the opportunity to win one of three La-Z-Boy chairs or a $499 gift certificate to select La-Z-Boy stores in Oregon.
The "Sit Back, Relax and Donate" campaign was created to thank blood and platelet donors for giving the gift of life during the summertime. Blood donations traditionally decline around major holidays and summer vacations. The need for blood and platelets, however, never takes a vacation.
The Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region of the Red Cross would like to thank all three winners - and all other blood and platelet donors who participated in the Sit Back, Relax and Donate campaign - for helping to save lives this summer. The blood collection region strives to collect 5,000 donations every week of the year, an impossible task without the generosity of volunteer donors.
